Hi! I’m Cynthia Diersen! Welcome to my continuing education page! I created The WHY Factor Salon Readiness & Tutoring Program after 25 years in the industry as a hairdresser, a salon owner, an artist and an educator. The fact that you reached my education page means you are looking to be the most ready for salon success and I could not be more excited that you’re here!

My exciting career has taken me all over the world to share my techniques in hair coloring, cutting, styling and of course, the love for this ever evolving industry. After owning a salon business for over 15 years, I have seen a consistent void in knowledge for a deeper comprehension of hairdressing and practical skills in stylists joining our industry. Ironically, most salons expect these new stylists to hit the salon floor as if they have the same level of knowledge as someone with 3-5 years experience! Noticing this pattern of stylists living by the “fake it ‘till you make it” motto, I decided to do something about the problem and began creating opportunities for licensed professionals of all levels to not just learn HOW to achieve a requested look but most importantly, WHY we take a certain approach to achieve our client’s expectations, time and time again.

I created The WHY Factor Salon Readiness and Tutoring Program to offer students and licensed beauty professionals a unique learning opportunity to jump ahead of the pack and be salon ready as fast as possible. I have trained countless hairdressers with The WHY Factor Salon Readiness and Tutoring Program and it has taken them from student level to masters in hairdressing, and most of my students have gained and surpassed that skill level of a seasoned hairdresser!
